HIGH PRESSURE EXTENDED FROM SASKATCHEWAN CANADA INTO THE DAKOTAS
MONDAY AFTERNOON. THIS FEATURE BROUGHT ANOTHER PLEASANT SUMMER
AFTERNOON TO RESIDENTS OF THE RUSHMORE STATE WITH LOW HUMIDITY
LEVELS AND BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES. SKIES WERE MOSTLY SUNNY OVER
THE WEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL WITH A FEW CUMULUS CLOUDS BUILDING OVER
THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF THE BLACK HILLS. THE REMAINDER OF THE STATE
HAD A PARTLY TO MOSTLY SUNNY SKY WITH MORE CLOUDS THAN SUN OVER THE
NORTHEAST.

AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE LOWER TO MID 70S ACROSS THE
NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL...AND IN THE UPPER 70S AND LOWER 80S
ACROSS THE REST OF THE STATE WITH HOT SPRINGS...INTERIOR AND PHILIP
THE WARMEST AT 84 DEGREES.

AFTERNOON WINDS WERE NORTHERLY AT 5 TO 15 MPH ACROSS THE EAST...AND
EASTERLY AT 5 TO 15 MPH ACROSS THE WEST.

AT 8 PM CDT CLOUDS LINGERED NORTHEAST OF ABERDEEN NEAR BRITTON AND
BETWEEN PIERRE AND ABERDEEN. THE REMAINDER OF THE STATE WAS CLEAR.
TEMPERATURES HAD COOLED INTO THE UPPER 60S ACROSS THE NORTHEAST...
AND WERE IN THE 70S ELSEWHERE WITH EXTREMES OF 67 AT WATERTOWN TO 79
DEGREES AT PHILIP...PINE RIDGE...AND WINNER

ON THIS DATE IN 2006 THE MERCURY SOARED TO 109 DEGREES AT BELLE
FOURCHE...INTERIOR...MURDO...RAPID CITY AND SPEARFISH... 110 DEGREES
AT DUPREE...FAITH AND PHILIP AND 111 DEGREES AT PIERRE AND MOBRIDGE.

ONE THIS YEAR ONE YEAR AGO THE MORNING GOT OFF TO A CHILLY START...
ESPECIALLY ACROSS EASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA WHERE TEMPERATURES COOLED
INTO THE 40S. SOME LOW TEMPERATURES FROM THAT MORNING INCLUDE...
