At 428 PM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain mostly in southeast
Oklahoma and also in Arkansas west of I49. Thunderstorms with
locally heavy rain were located in Choctaw, Pushmataha and Leflore
counties in Oklahoma. The precipitation was in the Fort Smith area.
Movement was to the east at around 30 mph. The average amount where
it rained last hour was one tenth to one quarter of an inch with
maximum amounts of an inch to an inch and a half. Coverage increased
but intensity decreased during the last hour. The Tulsa area
forecast for late this afternoon and into this evening, partly
cloudy then clearing, a chance of showers and thunderstorms with
temperatures 73 to 79 degrees and northeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
