KEY WEST CONTINUED TO SEE TEMPERATURES AT OR ABOVE NORMAL FOR THE
13TH STRAIGHT MONTH, AVERAGING A TEMPERATURE OF 84.0F, WHICH TIES
FOR THE 19TH WARMEST JUNE ON RECORD. OVERNIGHT AVERAGE LOW
TEMPERATURES CAME IN AT 80.2F, RANKING AS A TIE FOR THE 6TH WARMEST
ON RECORD. ONLY ONE DAY DURING THE ENTIRE MONTH DID THE MERCURY RISE
TO 90F OR ABOVE, WHEN A HIGH OF 91F WAS OBSERVED ON 6/27.
HISTORICALLY, KEY WEST SEES ON AVERAGE SIX DAYS DURING JUNE WHERE
THIS THRESHOLD IS MET OR EXCEEDED.  A TOTAL OF FOUR WARM MINIMUM
TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET OR TIED DURING THE MONTH.  YEAR TO DATE
(6/30/17), KEY WEST HAS OBSERVED AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 77.6F,
WHICH TIES AS THE 11TH WARMEST FIRST HALF OF THE CALENDAR YEAR,
COMING AHEAD OF THE WARMEST YEAR ON RECORD (2015) BY 0.3F.

WITH A TOTAL OF 5.71" OF RAINFALL DURING JUNE, A SURPLUS OF 1.60"
WAS OBSERVED WHEN COMPARED TO NORMAL VALUES. IT WAS THE WETTEST JUNE
SINCE 2013 WHEN 8.54" FELL IN KEY WEST. THE BULK OF THE RAINFALL
FELL DURING ONE DAY, BACK ON JUNE 7TH WHEN 4.39" WAS OBSERVED,
BREAKING THE DAILY RAINFALL RECORD FOR THAT DATE BY 2.77". YEAR TO
DATE (6/30/17), A TOTAL OF 14.76" OF RAIN HAS BEEN OBSERVED IN KEY
WEST, COMING JUST AHEAD OF THE NORMAL VALUE BY ONLY 0.02".
