...JUNE WAS DRIER THAN NORMAL IN NORFOLK...WITH ABOVE-NORMAL
TEMPERATURES

WITH ONLY SIX DAYS OF BELOW AVERAGE TEMPERATURES...THE OVERALL
TEMPERATURE FOR NORFOLK ENDED ABOVE NORMAL. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
OF 73.8 DEGREES WAS 3.6 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL...WHILE THE TOTAL
PRECIPITATION OF 3.21 INCHES WAS 1.05 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.

A NEAR AVERAGE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH TURNED WARM BY THE 8TH WHEN
THE FIRST 90 DEGREE DAY OCCURRED. THIS WARM STRETCH CONTINUED
THROUGH THE 19TH BEFORE TEMPERATURES RETURNED TO NEAR AVERAGE
VALUES. THROUGHOUT THE MONTH THERE WERE NINE DAYS WHERE THE HIGH
TEMPERATURE WAS AT LEAST 90 DEGREES OR HIGHER. THE HIGHEST
TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 95 DEGREES WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 17TH
AND THE COOLEST TEMPERATURE OF THE MONTH WAS 46 DEGREES ON THE 7TH.

THE MAJORITY OF THE OBSERVED PRECIPITATION CAME ON TWO DAYS...THE
14TH AND THE 17TH WHERE 1.61 AND 1.02 INCHES OF RAIN FELL
RESPECTIVELY.  THUNDER WAS REPORTED ON SIX DAYS WITH FOG OR MIST
REPORTED ON FOUR DAYS.
