Generalized Statewide Coastal Waters Forecast for Hawaii

.Synopsis for Hawaiian coastal waters...
A weak trough will develop over the eastern end of the island
chain later today and tonight as a cold front approaches. The
cold front will reach the Kauai waters late Tuesday into Tuesday
night, then continue down the island chain through midweek.
Another cold front will approach the islands Thursday through
Friday.

Hawaiian waters within 40 nautical miles including the channels-

.REST OF TODAY...Variable winds to 10 kt, except up to 15 knots
Big Island waters. Wind waves 1 to 3 feet. Northwest swell 5 to 6
feet. Scattered showers Maui and Big Island waters. Isolated
showers elsewhere.
.TONIGHT...Winds variable 5 to 15 knots. Wind waves 2 to 4 feet.
Northwest swell 8 feet. Numerous showers and thunderstorms.
.TUESDAY...North winds 10 to 20 knots, except variable winds 10 kt
Big Island waters. Wind waves 3 to 6 feet. North swell 7 to 9
feet. Numerous showers and thunderstorms, mainly over the
southeast waters.
.TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY...North winds 10 to 20 knots.
Wind waves 3 to 6 feet. North swell 7 to 9 feet. Numerous showers
and thunderstorms Maui County and Big Island waters, scattered
showers elsewhere.
.THURSDAY...North winds 10 to 15 knots. Wind waves 3 to 4 feet.
North swell 7 to 9 feet. Scattered showers.
.FRIDAY...North winds 10 knots. Wind waves 3 feet. Northwest
swell 5 to 7 feet. Isolated showers.
