...FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR

* A PORTION OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
 COUNTIES...FORT BEND AND HARRIS.

* UNTIL 6 PM CDT THIS EVENING

* SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MAY DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON
AS THE ATMOSPHERE HEATS UP. NO SIGNIFICANT DISTURBANCES ARE
NOTED ON SATELLITE THAT POINT TOWARD ANY SORT OF REPEAT OF WHAT
OCCURRED LAST NIGHT. WE WOULD EXPECT MAINLY SCATTERED POPCORN
TYPE ACTIVITY THE AREA TYPICALLY SEES IN THE SUMMER MONTHS.
HOWEVER...PORTIONS OF THE WATCH AREA THAT RECEIVED TORRENTIAL
RAINFALL AMOUNTS OVERNIGHT CANNOT HANDLE EVEN A VERY LOCALIZED
HEAVY DOWNPOUR WITHOUT THE RISK OF ADDITIONAL FLOODING.
SCATTERED PRECIPITATION SHOULD TAPER OFF BY EARLY EVENING WITH
  THE LOSS OF HEATING.

* FLOODING IS ALREADY ONGOING ACROSS THE WATCH AREA. DO NOT DRIVE
  ACROSS WATER COVERED ROADS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
DO NOT DRIVE ACROSS WATER COVERED ROADS!

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
