...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM CST FOR
NORTHERN EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH...

At 1254 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms produced heavy rain over the warned area. 3 to 5
inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding could begin again as
moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms move back over this
area. The Baton Rouge Regional Airport has recorded 4.79 inches of
rain so far today.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Baton Rouge, Zachary, Baker, Port Allen, Pride, Greenwell Spring,
Merrydale, Brownfields and Baton Rouge Airport.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
