FLOOD WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER CO

...The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Flood Warning
for the following river in Colorado...

  South Platte River near Balzac affecting Logan...Morgan and
  Washington Counties.

...The Flood Warning remains in effect for the following rivers...

  Cache La Poudre River near Greeley affecting Weld County.
  South Platte River near Kersey affecting Weld County.
  South Platte River near Weldona affecting Morgan County.

Additional rain today has resulted in a slightly higher river
forecast. As a result the flood crest currently moving through
eastern Morgan and northwest Washington counties is now expected to
rise to slightly above flood stage. Further upstream the river will
remain high a little longer and could rise slightly from todays
runoff. Additional rainfall on Sunday could make the current flooding
last even longer.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However, all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

The Flood Warning continues for
 The Cache La Poudre River near Greeley.
* At  5:30 PM Saturday the stage was 8.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 8.9 feet by
  Monday evening. The river will fall below flood stage Thursday
  morning.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 8.9 feet
  on Jun 14 1983.

The Flood Warning continues for
 The South Platte River near Kersey.
* At  6:00 PM Saturday the stage was 10.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 10.7 feet by
  Sunday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Tuesday
  evening.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet...Considerable lowland and meadow flooding
  occurs. Water is at the base of several bridges in the area.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.7 feet
  on May 8 1969.

The Flood Warning continues for
 The South Platte River near Weldona.
* At  5:45 PM Saturday the stage was 10.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 10.3 feet by
  Sunday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Tuesday
  evening.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet...There is widespread lowland and meadow
  flooding. Water rises over the railroad tracks near Masters.
  Irrigation works are impacted.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.3 feet
  on May 10 1969.

* from Sunday morning to Tuesday evening.
* At  5:30 PM Saturday the stage was 9.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Sunday morning and continue to
  rise to near 10.2 feet by Sunday evening.The river will fall below
  flood stage by Tuesday afternoon.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet...Minor flooding occurs at Sterling.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.4 feet
  on May 3 1999.
