Flood Warning
National Weather Service Billings MT
1015 AM MDT Thu Jun 22 2017

...The National Weather Service in Billings has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Montana...

Clarks Fork Of The Yellowstone at Edgar affecting Carbon County

.Recent warm temperatures have increased snow melt of the
substantial snow pack above 8000 feet in the Beartooth and Absaroka
mountains. This melt water was moving down the Clarks Fork of the
Yellowstone river resulting in significant rises over the past few
days. River levels are expected to rise to bankfull this afternoon
and again Friday afternoon, before cooler temperatures slow the snow
melt and allow water levels to drop this weekend. Flooding impacts
will be similar to those 2 weeks ago and include increased bank
erosion and low land flooding adjacent to the river.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...A river Flood Warning means river flooding is
expected to impact people and property in the warned area. Prepare
for flooding impacts associated with the forecast river levels in
your location.
