FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
300 PM EDT THU JUL 2 2015

.DISCUSSION...A WEAK SURFACE TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE CONTINUES OVER
THE AREA THROUGH FRIDAY...AS A COLD FRONTAL BOUNDARY SETTLES SOUTH
INTO NORTH CAROLINA. UPPER LEVEL ENERGY WILL CROSS THE AREA LATE
TODAY AND THIS EVENING...WITH MOIST AND UNSTABLE CONDITIONS.
SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED.
A FEW STORMS COULD PRODUCE STRONG AND DAMAGING DOWNBURST WINDS.

WITH A TIGHTER PRESSURE GRADIENT TONIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING...
FAIR DISPERSION IS EXPECTED. LOW-LEVEL MIXING TOGETHER WITH
CONSIDERABLE CLOUDINESS SHOULD INHIBIT ANY SIGNIFICANT FOG
FORMATION.

ANOTHER ROUND OF SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE
FRIDAY ESPECIALLY DURING THE TIMES OF MAXIMUM HEATING.
WINDS WILL BE FROM THE SOUTHWEST NEAR THE SURFACE...AROUND 15 MPH.
TRANSPORT WINDS WILL BE WEST-SOUTHWEST AT 20 TO 25 MPH.
THE MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL ONCE AGAIN BE NEAR 45 PERCENT.
