FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
312 PM EDT TUE MAY 24 2016

.DISCUSSION...SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN ANCHORED OFF THE
COAST OF NORTH AND SOUTH CAROLINA THROUGH THURSDAY. THIS WILL ALLOW
A WEAK SOUTHERLY FLOW TO GRADUALLY PULL IN LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE.
HOWEVER...A BROAD RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE IN THE MID LEVELS WILL
KEEP THE ATMOSPHERE DRY OVERALL AND INHIBIT ANY SHOWER OR
THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT.

A WEAK PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL YIELD POOR DISPERSION THIS EVENING
THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE VERY SHALLOW MOISTURE WILL
PREVENT ANY SIGNIFICANT FOG FROM DEVELOPING.

SURFACE WINDS WEDNESDAY WILL BE LIGHT FROM THE SOUTHWEST AFTER
DAYBREAK...THEN INCREASE TO 5 TO 10 MPH BY LATE MORNING. TRANSPORT
WINDS WILL BE SIMILAR. RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL DROP TO AROUND
34 PERCENT IN THE AFTERNOON.
