FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
300 PM EDT THU MAY 28 2015

.DISCUSSION...MODERATE ATMOSPHERIC MOISTURE WILL REMAIN ACROSS THE
AREA THROUGH THIS EVENING. ENOUGH INSTABILITY AND WEAK SHORT WAVE
ENERGY WILL BE ON HAND TO SUPPORT WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS.

RISING UPPER LEVEL HEIGHTS...COUPLED WITH A SLIGHTLY MORE STABLE
AND SOMEWHAT DRIER AIRMASS...WILL KEEP THE THREAT OF CONVECTION LOW
ACROSS THE MIDLANDS AND CSRA ON FRIDAY.

A PERSISTENT WEAK PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL PROVIDE POOR DISPERSION
TONIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING. PATCHY EARLY MORNING FOG IS POSSIBLE
IN LOW-LYING LOCATIONS NEAR RIVER VALLEYS.

WINDS WILL BE SOUTHEAST...WITH SPEEDS OF 5 TO 10 MPH BY AFTERNOON
NEAR THE SURFACE...AND AROUND 10 MPH IN THE MIXING LAYER.
MINUMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL BE IN THE 35 TO 40 PERCENT RANGE.
