Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR Southeast Texas
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE Houston/Galveston TX
206 PM CST Sun Feb 19 2017

.DISCUSSION...
Gusty southeasterly winds this afternoon will diminish toward sunset
with widespread cloud cover returning this evening. A potent upper
level trough of low pressure will into the western portions of the state
bringing very rich Gulf moisture north into the area early Monday morning.
Shower and thunderstorms will blanket the region Monday. A Flash Flood Watch
is in effect for a large portion of the area. Soaking rainfall of 1 to 3
inches will be common with some isolated swaths receiving 4 to 6 inches.
A weak Pacific cold front will finally scour out much of the moisture
Monday night but only light winds in the wake of the system are expected.
Warm and dry weather with winds becoming southerly should prevail Wednesday
through Friday. Another weak drier cold front moves through the area Friday
with a day of light northerly winds Saturday.
