Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL

.DISCUSSION...
An upper level low and cold front will arrive late tonight and
Wednesday morning bringing more showers and a few thunderstorms
to the region. Most areas will receive light to moderate rain
amounts of one half to three quarters of an inch, while locally
higher amounts near an inch will be possible. Winds will shift
to the southwest and west on Wednesday behind the front with
generally good to good smoke dispersion expected. As the low
departs, a ridge of high pressure will take its place over the
Tennessee Valley late on Thursday. Cooler and dry weather is
foreseen as a result on Thursday with westerly transport winds
diminishing by nightfall. Very good smoke dispersion is expected
Thursday.

Warmer temperatures will then return Friday and Saturday. The
next chances of showers and thunderstorms occur Saturday Night
into Sunday.

Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy fog will be possible
in valley locations on Friday morning.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: Red Flag conditions are not
anticipated for the next several days.
