Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
228 PM CDT Mon Apr 24 2017

.DISCUSSION...

High pressure will build across the region overnight. This will
help clear skies by sunset. As winds calm, temperatures
will drop into the lower 50s and moisture will increase at the
surface. This will allow for patchy fog to develop across the
area. Fog will dissipate after sunrise. Mostly clear skies will
prevail across the region through Wednesday. Winds initially from
the north tonight will shift to the southwest on Tuesday and then
to the south on Wednesday and remain in the 5 to 10 mph range.
The combination of high mixing heights and transport winds around
10 mph will create generally good dispersion conditions both
Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.

Winds will increase on Wednesday afternoon as a system approaches
the area from the west. A cold front will move through early on
Thursday, with widespread wetting rains expected to impact the
outlook area after midnight Thursday and continuing through the
day on Thursday. The cold front will clear the area late Thursday
evening. Friday may be dry, however there is a chance that a warm
front will lift northward and bring another round of showers and
thunderstorms. The total rainfall amounts from this system will be
around 1 inch.

Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy fog is expected
across northern Alabama early Tuesday morning. The fog may be
dense in some locations. Any fog that does develop will dissipate
shortly after sunrise.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None.
