Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
241 PM CDT Fri Apr 28 2017

.DISCUSSION...

An extended period of wet weather is on tap for the next few
days, with much of central and southeast Illinois expected
to see 3 to 6 inches of rain. Burn potential within any
breaks in the rain will be negated by the damp ground and
poor ventilation. A frontal boundary over the area this
weekend will divide northeast winds from southerly winds,
with areas south of I-70 most likely to see the latter on
Saturday, before the front moves north. The responsible storm
system will move out Sunday night, but scattered showers will
continue to wrap around it through Monday as it lifts
northeastward.

Notice to Users:

This will be the last issuance of the routine Fire Weather
Planning Forecast for the spring season. The routine forecast
will return for the fall season around October 1.
