FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MARQUETTE MI
551 AM EDT TUE JUL 28 2015

...HOT AND DRY FOR MUCH OF THE AREA TODAY...THEN SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE TONIGHT...

.DISCUSSION...A HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE DEPARTING THE AREA TODAY WILL
BRING ONE LAST DAY OF HOT TEMPERATURES ACROSS UPPER MICHIGAN. IN
ADDITION TO THE WARM TEMPERATURES...ABUNDANT SUNSHINE OVER EASTERN
UPPER MICHIGAN WILL LEAD TO RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES FALLING INTO THE
UPPER 20S AND LOWER 30S. MEANWHILE...EXPECT INCREASING CLOUDS OVER
THE WEST AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT THAT WILL MOVE ACROSS THE U.P. LATE
THIS EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED ALONG THIS FRONT...BUT A WIDESPREAD AND
SOAKING RAIN IS NOT EXPECTED. BEHIND THE FRONT ON WEDNESDAY...GUSTY
WEST-SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP AND THE STRONGEST GUSTS...UP TO 40
MPH...ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR OVER THE KEWEENAW PENINSULA. WITH COOLER
TEMPERATURES ON WEDNESDAY...RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES SHOULD STAY IN
THE UPPER 30S AND 40S. WHILE WEAK DISTURBANCES ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE
ACROSS THE U.P. THROUGH THE UPCOMING WEEKEND...LITTLE TO NO
PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED WITH MOST OF THEM.
