.DISCUSSION...

Other than hogging the lion`s share of moisture over the southeast,
hurricane "Maria" will be a non-player as she scampers off to the
north. She is still expected to track to a location about 100 miles
or so to the east of the NC outer banks by mid week. At any rate,
closer to home, an easterly wave axis will be sliding west of the
mid state today. Curvature and shear in association with the axis
will provide just enough lift across western areas to provide a
slight chance of afternoon showers and tstms.

On Monday, the w-e upper ridge, which has been camped to our north,
will begin to exert itself in a southwesterly direction. As the
aforementioned easterly wave shifts further west and weakens, the
upper level ridging influences will win out. Thus, no rain chances
for Monday and Tuesday as well.

In the extended fcst, looks like a dry fropa around mid week. Cooler
and drier air will follow.
