Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
253 PM PDT Wed Jul 26 2017

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...Upper low over North Central California
slowly into southeast Oregon by tonight. Isolated storms along the
crest should move east by early evening. Unstable low levels
across west Central Oregon regardless. Brief breezy winds near
Coast Range gaps and the Central Gorge through the evening.
Somewhat cooler Thursday under a thicker marine layer.

.DISCUSSION...Northern California low has now moved over northeast
California and will continue moving very slowly toward SE Oregon
tonight. Isolated storms have developed over Lane county Crest.
Am still giving a 50/50 chance the storms are producing wetting
rain under the core. Outflow wind gusts so far have been around 15
mph and should stay less than 25 mph.

Tomorrow will see the strongest onshore flow and likely be the
coolest day of the next several. No large scale wetting rains are
on the horizon as the region remains under southwest flow aloft
and sandwiched between low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska and the
4-corners high slowly pushing westward. Am currently watching a
possible weak short wave for Sunday which could bring another
thunderstorm threat. Models are rather inconsistent among
themselves so far, however. /JBonk

***Winds are 20-Foot 10 Minute Averages***
