Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
401 AM MST Thu Jan 18 2018

.Discussion...

Dry and increasingly warm weather will be over the region
through Saturday. Near critical fire weather conditions will
be possible both Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the best
chance for critical fire weather conditions will be along the
mountains/plains interface, especially across the east slopes
of the southern mountains and most of Fremont county. On
Saturday, the critical fire weather threat will have the
potential to be more widespread, and could affect the east
slopes of the southern mountains and a good portion of the
plains.

A Pacific storm system will begin to affect the mountains
early Saturday, then move out onto the plains late Saturday
night and Sunday. Snow will be possible over the mountains
Saturday into Sunday morning, while on the plains rain
and snow will be possible from late Saturday night into
Sunday. Cooler and drier conditions will then spread south
across the region Sunday and Monday.

Afternoon smoke dispersion will remain fair to poor across the
area today due to weak transport winds. On Friday, good or
better dispersion will develop over the mountains and I-25
corridor, while the far eastern plains stay mainly in the
fair to good range.
