...FLOOD POTENTIAL...

THE FLOOD POTENTIAL IS CURRENTLY LOW.

...HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION...

THE CLOSED LOW NORTH OF NORTHWEST ALASKA WILL SLOWLY APPROACH THE
STATE THROUGH SATURDAY. AN UPPER TROUGH CURRENTLY OVER THE BERING
SEA WILL PIVOT THROUGH THE GULF OF ALASKA... TO SOUTHEAST ALASKA BY
SATURDAY. AN ASSOCIATED SURFACE LOW WILL MOVE THROUGH THE GULF. THE
NEXT UPPER TROUGH WILL MOVE INTO THE BERING SEA ON FRIDAY. A SURFACE
FRONT ENTERING NORTHWEST ALASKA TODAY... WILL SWEEP THROUGH THE
INTERIOR THURSDAY.

THE SYSTEM MOVING TROUGH THE GULF WILL DROP SIGNIFICANT
PRECIPITATION ALONG THE GULF COAST THROUGH FRIDAY. THE HEAVIEST
AMOUNTS WILL BE IN THE PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND AREA... WHERE UP TO 4
INCHES MAY FALL OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THE ALEUTIANS...KENAI
PENINSULA AND PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND WILL RECEIVE THE BULK OF THE
PRECIPITATION TODAY. THE HEAVY RAINFALL WILL MOVE INTO THE PANHANDLE
FOR THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. THE PRECIPITATION WITH THE FRONT WILL
PROVIDE THE NORTH SLOPE AND INTERIOR WITH ABOUT QUARTER INCH TO A
HALF INCH. RAIN CHANGING TO SNOW OVER THE NORTH SLOPE.

FREEZING LEVELS OVER THE MAINLAND RANGED FROM 5000 TO 7000 FEET WITH
SLIGHT HIGHER VALUES OVER THE PANHANDLE AND ALEUTIANS. WITH THE COLD
FRONT MOVING THROUGH... FRIDAY`S FREEZING LEVELS OVER NORTHWEST
ALASKA WILL DIP TO THE 1000 TO 3000 FOOT LEVEL. THE REST OF ALASKA
WILL REMAIN IN THE 5000 TO 8000 FOOT LEVEL.

...LONG RANGE...

THE 6 TO 10 DAY TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED CHANCES OF BELOW
NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR MOST OF THE INTERIOR. THE GULF COAST AND THE
WEST COAST OF ALASKA INCREASED CHANCES OF ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES.

THE 6 TO 10 DAY PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED CHANCES OF ABOVE
NORMAL PRECIPITATION OVER NORTHERN MAINLAND. THE SOUTHERN HALF OF
ALASKA HAS INCREASED CHANCES OF BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION.
