URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Riverton WY
744 PM MST Sun Nov 19 2017

...High winds probable tonight through the day Monday across the
Absaroka Mountains, Cody Foothills, southern Fremont County, and
most of the lower elevations of Natrona County...

.A strong pressure gradient combining with brisk winds and a good
mountain top inversion will allow for locally strong surface gap
and canyon winds to continue in the Cody Foothills tonight
through much of the day Monday. Areas west and north of Cody will
be most susceptible with locations near Clark seeing the best
threat of periodic high winds. Additionally, mid and upper level
winds speeds increase dramatically as a jet associated with the
next winter weather system approaches and overtakes WY. This,
together with good strong low level instability will increase
wind speeds across the Wind Corridor stretching from portions of
southern Fremont County to the east and through Natrona County.

...HIGH WIND WATCH IS CANCELLED...

The National Weather Service in Riverton has cancelled the High
Wind Watch.

While conditions able to produce strong wind gusts will increase
across the Lander Foothills later tonight, continuing into Monday
morning, these strong wind gusts should be very occasional and
rather isolated. The Red Canyon area is most likely to see the
strongest of these wind gusts, while Lander proper may not see
any. As the stronger winds are not expected to be widespread by
any means, the High Wind Watch has been cancelled.
