...MONTH IN REVIEW FOR NORTHEAST OREGON AND SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON FOR
THE MONTH OF JUNE 2014...

I.  TEMPERATURE AND PRECIPITATION OVERVIEW

     JUNE 2014 AVERAGE TEMPERATURES WERE NEAR TO BELOW NORMAL ACROSS
MOST OF THE REGION. A FEW LOCATIONS IN SOUTH CENTRAL WASHINGTON WERE
A FEW DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. TOTAL PRECIPITATION WAS WELL BELOW
NORMAL ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA EXCEPT ACROSS NORTHEAST OREGON, WHERE
SOME LOCATIONS RECEIVED NEAR TO ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION DUE TO
CONVECTIVE RAIN SHOWERS THROUGH THE MONTH.

II.  SELECTED RECORDS

     A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVED OVER THE REGION JUNE 13TH THROUGH
JUNE 14TH, BRINGING A LARGE AREA OF RAIN SHOWERS TO THE REGION.
MEACHAM, OREGON BROKE A RECORD 24-HOUR RAINFALL TOTAL ON JUNE 13TH
WITH 1.51 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION. THE PREVIOUS RECORD FOR MEACHAM
WAS 0.79 INCHES IN 2006. DOWNTOWN PENDLETON BROKE A RECORD 24-HOUR
RAINFALL TOTAL ENDING THE MORNING OF THE 14TH WITH 1.25 INCHES OF
PRECIPITATION. THIS BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 0.42 INCHES SET IN
2006.

     A WEAK DISTURBANCE MOVED THROUGH THE REGION JUNE 20TH, LEADING
TO BREEZY CONDITIONS. SKIES CLEARED OVERNIGHT, AND MINIMUM
TEMPERATURES WERE BELOW NORMAL ACROSS THE REGION THE MORNING OF THE
21ST. TWO STATIONS BROKE RECORD LOW TEMPERATURES THE MORNING OF THE
21ST.

III.  SIGNIFICANT WEATHER

     ANOTHER WEATHER DISTURBANCE MOVED ACROSS THE REGION JUNE 25TH
INTO THE 26TH, BRINGING RAIN SHOWERS. MANY LOCATIONS REPORTED OVER A
QUARTER OF AN INCH OF RAIN ENDING THE MORNING OF THE 26TH. MADRAS,
OREGON REPORTED 0.32 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION, BREAKING THE PREVIOUS
RECORD OF 0.27 INCHES SET IN 1942. THE FOLLOWING TABLE LISTS
SELECTED LOCATIONS AND REPORTED PRECIPITATION TOTALS BETWEEN JUNE
25TH AND JUNE 26TH.
