...THE RISK OF FIRE DANGER WILL INCREASE TODAY UNDER A DRIER AIR
MASS...

RIDGE ALOFT WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT DRY WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS
THE FORECAST AREA TODAY. AS A RESULT RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES ARE
FORECAST TO REACH CRITICAL THRESHOLDS...NEAR 40S...LATE IN THE
MORNING OR EARLY IN THE AFTERNOON. THE 20FTWND WILL CONTINUE FROM
THE EAST AT 15 KNOTS WITH SOME HIGHER GUST. THEREFORE, THE RISK
OF FIRE DANGER WILL INCREASE ACROSS THE SOUTHERN COASTAL PLAINS OF
PUERTO RICO TODAY.

FIRE AND EMERGENCY OFFICIALS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE BECOMING MORE CONDUCIVE FOR THE IGNITION AND SPREAD
OF WILD FIRES.

FIRE DANGER STATEMENTS ARE ISSUED WHEN FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE APPROACHING, BUT NOT MEETING OR EXCEEDING, RED FLAG WARNING
CRITERIA.
