URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE

...DANGEROUS FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND
FAR NORTHWEST ARKANSAS THIS AFTERNOON...

.WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS AT SPEEDS OF 10 TO 20 MPH AND GUSTS IN
THE 20 TO 30 MPH RANGE ARE EXPECTED. WINDS WILL SHIFT TO A MORE
NORTHERLY DIRECTION DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON AND INTO THE EVENING
AS A COLD FRONT PUSHES THROUGH THE AREA. THE FRONTAL PASSAGE WILL
ALSO KEEP WINDS GUSTY INTO THIS EVENING. THESE CONDITIONS
COMBINED WITH ONGOING DRY CONDITIONS WILL CREATE FIRE CONDITIONS
FAVORABLE FOR RAPID DEVELOPMENT AND THE SPREAD OF WILDFIRES.

THIS EVENING FOR VERY DRY AND WINDY CONDITIONS FOR NORTHEAST
OKLAHOMA...

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 10 AM this morning to 6 PM CST
this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.


* AFFECTED AREA...IN Oklahoma, Osage, Washington, Nowata, and
  Pawnee counties.

* WIND...West to northwest winds at 15 to 20 mph, gusting to 30
  mph at times.

* HUMIDITY...15 to 25 percent.

* TEMPERATURE...Mid 60s.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A red flag warning means that a dangerous combination of weather
conditions and dry vegetation is expected within 24 hours,
favoring rapid growth and spread of any wildfires. The primary
weather factors include stronger winds, lower humidities, and
warmer temperatures.
