...RIVER STATEMENT FOR THE TALLAPOOSA RIVER...

RECENT RAINFALL HAS PRODUCED RISES ON THE TALLAPOOSA RIVER.
HOWEVER...LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW ESTABLISHED FLOOD
STAGES...AND ANY OVERFLOW ALONG THE RIVER SHOULD BE OF A MINOR
NATURE.

THE TALLAPOOSA RIVER AT MILSTEAD.
 LATEST STAGE:     21.0 FEET AT 8 AM SUNDAY.
 CAUTION STAGE:    15.0 FEET.
 FLOOD STAGE:      40.0 FEET.
 FORECAST:         THE RIVER IS NEAR CREST AND WILL BEGIN
                   TO FALL THIS AFTERNOON.


THE TALLAPOOSA RIVER AT THE TALLAPOOSA WATER PLANT.
 LATEST STAGE:     20.6 FEET AT 9 AM SUNDAY.
 CAUTION STAGE:    15.0 FEET.
 FLOOD STAGE:      25.0 FEET.
 FORECAST:         CREST NEAR 20.8 FEET THIS AFTERNOON
                   AND THEN BEGIN TO FALL.



PLEASE STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR YOUR LOCAL MEDIA FOR LATER
STATEMENTS CONCERNING THIS EVENT.

IT IS EMPHASIZED THAT THESE FORECASTS ARE BASED ON RAINFALL THAT HAS
ALREADY OCCURRED AND ON ADDITIONAL RAINFALL EXPECTED TODAY AND
TONIGHT.  IF MORE RAINFALL THAN IS CURRENTLY FORECAST OCCURS IT MAY
BECOME NECESSARY TO REVISE THESE FORECASTS UPWARD.

ANOTHER STATEMENT WILL BE ISSUED MONDAY MORNING...OR SOONER IF
CONDITIONS WARRANT.
