WEATHER SYNOPSIS

427 AM CDT WED AUG 20 2014

HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL BE BUILDING NORTHWARD FROM THE GULF COAST
REGION AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE REST OF THE WEEK. THIS WILL RESULT
IN THE FIRST EXTENDED HEAT WAVE OF THE SUMMER. HIGH TEMPERATURES
WILL MOSTLY BE IN THE MID TO UPPER 90S BY WEEKS END. WE CAN ALSO
EXPECT AFTERNOON HEAT INDICES TO RUN IN THE 100 TO 105 RANGE FOR
SEVERAL DAYS IN A ROW. THEREFORE...A HEAT ADVISORY HAS BEEN
ISSUED FOR THE ENTIRE FOUR STATE REGION BEGINNING THIS AFTERNOON
AND LASTING THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON. THE CHANCES FOR SHOWER AND
THUNDERSTORMS WILL ALSO BE DWINDLING THIS WEEK AS THE HIGH
PRESSURE SYSTEM EXPANDS OVER THE REGION.
