Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from Mexico Beach, Florida SW
to Tampico, Mexico. Showers and thunderstorms are expected
across the NE Gulf today in association with a pre-frontal
trough just N of Tampa Bay. The front will lift as a warm front
later today and linger across the northern Gulf over the next
few days. This will shift the focus of heavy rain and
thunderstorms to the northern Gulf on Thu and Fri. Elsewhere,
moderate to fresh return flow will dominate the basin, pulsing
to locally strong near the Yucatan Peninsula and the Bay of
Campeche. Winds will slightly weaken during the weekend as the
gradient relaxes. Meanwhile, haze due to agricultural fires in
Mexico continues across most of the western Gulf and Bay of
Campeche.

showers and isolated tstms.

.THU NIGHT...SW to W winds 5 to 10 kt, shifting to SE to S 10 to
15 kt after midnight. Seas 3 to 4 ft.
.FRI...SE to S winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft.
.FRI NIGHT...SE to S winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft.
.SAT...S winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft.

subsiding to 2 ft or less.

Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida

.SYNOPSIS...Fresh to strong SW winds and moderate to rough seas
are noted off the NE Florida coast to 76W due to an approaching
cold front and pre-frontal trough. Showers and thunderstorms
with frequent lightning and gusty winds are also noted moving
off the central Florida coast and N of Freeport this morning. The
front will push off the NE Florida coast by Thu and extend from
31N68W to 29N81W Fri morning, and weaken as it extends from 31N61W
to 28N71W Sat morning. Fresh to strong winds will continue ahead
of the front through Fri along with showers and thunderstorms.
Conditions will improve by Fri night into the weekend as the front
dissipates. Tranquil conditions are expected this weekend.
