.DISCUSSION...

Cool west breeze for the morning will subside and winds will shift
slowly to the south from west to east across the state through the
course of the day.  South winds will increase across the Missouri
valley and points west to between 20 and 30mph by the afternoon,
while for northeast South Dakota, winds will remain generally light.
Through the course of the afternoon we will also see light showers
expand in coverage across central and north central South Dakota,
and then northeast South Dakota this evening. Temperatures will
rebound to near average with highs in the 60s and afternoon humidity
between 25 and 45 percent.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Thursday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
