THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GAYLORD HAS ISSUED A LAKE EFFECT
SNOW WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH
TUESDAY EVENING.

* LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THIS MORNING. THE MOST
  PERSISTENT AND HEAVIEST SNOW BANDS ARE EXPECTED TO SLOWLY ROTATE
  NORTH THE NEXT FEW HOURS...BECOMING INCREASINGLY CONFINED TO
  COASTAL AREAS AFTER 6 AM.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES ARE
  EXPECTED. SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 INCH PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE
  WITHIN SOME OF THE STRONGER SNOW BANDS.

* IMPACTS...SLICK AND HAZARDOUS TRAVEL WITH SNOW COVERED ROADS AND
  REDUCED VISIBILITY.

* ANOTHER ROUND OF HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS EXPECTED MONDAY
  EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...LOCALIZED ACCUMULATIONS AROUND A FOOT ARE
  POSSIBLE.

* IMPACTS...SNOW COVERED ROADS. NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AT TIMES
  DUE TO A COMBINATION OF HEAVY FALLING SNOW AND AREAS OF BLOWING
  SNOW.

SHOWERS TYPICALLY ALIGN THEMSELVES IN BANDS AND WILL LIKELY BE
INTENSE ENOUGH TO DROP SEVERAL INCHES IN LOCALIZED AREAS. USE
CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING.

  SOUTHWEST. THE MOST PERSISTENT AND HEAVIEST SNOW BANDS ARE
  EXPECTED TO BE SOUTHEAST OF A LINE EXTENDING FROM BREVORT IN
  MACKINAC COUNTY TO KELDEN IN CHIPPEWA COUNTY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 3 TO 7 INCHES ARE
  EXPECTED...WITH THE GREATEST AMOUNTS NEAR THE STRAITS AND THE
  NORTH SHORE OF LAKE HURON. SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 INCH PER HOUR
  ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN SOME OF THE STRONGER SNOW BANDS. SNOW
  AMOUNTS WILL DROP OFF RAPIDLY ACROSS NORTHERN CHIPPEWA AND
  NORTHWEST MACKINAC COUNTIES.
