.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 224 AM EDT Mon Apr 29 2024

Wrapped out upper low over SD will lift out into srn ON by late
tonight with cold front washing out through the wrn OH valley today.
Upstream band of showers/storms will trickle east into nwrn areas
around daybreak with a brief rumble of thunder possible. Otherwise
this is expected to rapidly decay ewd post sunrise through cntrl
zones. Thereafter some redevelopment expected this aftn far e/se
within wrn flank of departing theta-e ridge with a rumble possible
here. Expect most areas inbetween to end up mainly dry.

Weak high pressure follows Tue-early Thu along with height
amplification aloft ahead of vigorous nrn plains sys and will yield
warm temps near 80 Wed & Thu. Better defined cold front in
association with this sys looks to sweep through the lakes late
Thu/Fri with a decent looking chance of showers/storms. Otherwise
dry and mild next weekend.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z TUESDAY/...
Issued at 543 AM EDT Mon Apr 29 2024

A weak cold front will bring rain and a few embedded
thunderstorms to the area today. Rain and thunderstorms can be
seen on radar entering northern Illinois and far northwest
Indiana. This activity will arrive to KSBN in the next few hours
and to KFWA around 15Z. Scattered showers and a few
thunderstorms are likely to persist through much of the day as
the cold front works its way slowly through the area. Ceilings
should continue to drop within the next few hours at both
terminals, with near MVFR ceilings with the onset of
precipitation. MVFR ceilings around 3 kft are possible during
any showers or storms. Winds will be gusty once again today up
to 25 kts. VFR conditions return after 00-03Z and through the
end of the TAF forecast period.
