.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 212 AM EDT Fri Apr 19 2024

Post frontal cold advection will wrap ewd this morning, tempering
diurnal heating even as skies clear. Otherwise gusty west winds ramp
quickly by mid morning through evening before abating. Wwd placement
of sfc ridge over NE and continued 5-10kt wrly flow overnight will
stave off frost potential tonight. However ridge elongates ewd into
the wrn OH valley Sat night in behind secondary cold front dropping
through the lakes. Weak gradient flow if not decoupling will bring
about widespread frost potential and perhaps a light freeze
northeast.

Thereafter some brief moderation in temps as upper flow flattens Sun-
Tue ahead of another wave progged to dig swd through the lakes Tue.
Some return flow inadv of this sys to support showers and perhaps
some isold thunder Tue aftn pending degree of moisture return.
Another cold Canadian airmass follows in its wake Tue night-Thu with
more frost/freeze potential.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z SATURDAY/...
Issued at 550 AM EDT Fri Apr 19 2024

A heavy mist is ongoing in the wake of a cold front that passed
through the forecast area overnight. By the start of the next
TAF cycle at 12Z precipitation should be tapering off as the sun
rises. The NBM keeps about a 75% probability of MVFR ceilings at
KFWA through 13Z, but after that, ceilings should quickly lift
to near 10kft. VFR conditions persist through the day and into
the evening across the area, with only a few operationally
insignificant clouds. Winds are still quite gusty post-front,
with gusts likely up to 25 kts throughout the day today and
potentially again tomorrow (just outside of this TAF cycle). Dry
conditions will persist through Monday with numerous periods of
VFR ceilings likely in the coming days.
