....GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS THROUGH TUESDAY...

...SLOW MOVING STORM SYSTEM FRIDAY INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK WITH RAIN
AND WIND...

Gusty northwest winds will persist through Tuesday, but will
continue to steadily decrease in strength and coverage each day
after the Sunday peak. Gusts of 25 to 40 mph will be common today in
the wind prone areas, especially over the coastal, mountains, and
desert areas. Isolated gusts to 50 mph are possible. Minimum
humidities between 25 and 45 percent will be common. The shower and
thunderstorm activity from yesterday has diminished, except for an
occasional shower on the north mountains slopes today. Wednesday
will be fairly benign, then west wind gusts of 20 to 40 mph will
become common on Thursday. A slow moving storm system will move just
off the west coast and bring several days of off and on again rain
lasting through Monday or Tuesday of next week. There are a range of
outcomes in terms of the amount of rain and impacts. The current
best estimate is for 1 to 3 inches overall, but there is a
30 percent chance for double those amounts. In addition, south winds
will be common for the Friday through Saturday or Sunday time
period, with gusts of 30 to 50 mph possible.
