Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
245 PM CDT Mon May 20 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns remain low into next week. While widespread
single-digit minimum relative humidity is anticipated each day,
critical 20-ft winds are expected to remain fairly isolated. High
ERCs and fire danger remain confined mostly to the rain-starved
higher terrain west of the Pecos, promoting elevated to near-
critical conditions there each day. Recovery overnight and
Tuesday night will be poor across Southeast New Mexico and areas
of West Texas to the south, but moderate to excellent elsewhere.
Relative humidity will bottom out at 6-26% Tuesday afternoon, and
3-34% Wednesday.
