Warning for the following rivers in Illinois...Missouri...

  Mississippi River at Thebes affecting Alexander and Scott
  Counties.

.Heavy rain is expected to cause minor flooding on the Mississippi
River at Thebes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Thebes.

* WHEN...From Friday afternoon to Thursday, May 16.

* IMPACTS...At 34.0 feet, The town of Thebes begins to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 32.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early Friday afternoon to a crest of 35.0 feet Monday
    evening. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday, May
    15.
  - Flood stage is 33.0 feet.
