533 SXUS46 KSEW 062111 RECSEW Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast National Weather Service Seattle WA 211 PM PDT Mon May 6 2024 .SYNOPSIS...Breezy and showery conditions are expected across Mount Rainier National Park through Tuesday. Snow is expected at Paradise and above through Tuesday. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible in the park today into the evening. A shift in the pattern will bring dry conditions and steadily warming temperatures to the park late in the week through the weekend. && .IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult backcountry skiing and mountaineering conditions through Tuesday across much of the alpine terrain of Mt. Rainier, including the Muir snowfield. Blizzard-like conditions with strong winds and near zero visibility are likely. A high level of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in these conditions. && .MONDAY NIGHT...Windy. Showers in the evening. A slight chance of thunderstorms. A chance of showers after midnight. Snow may be heavy at times in the evening. Snow accumulation near Paradise of 2 to 5 inches.
