...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following
  county, Bourbon and west central Missouri, including the following
  county, Vernon.

* WHEN...Until 1100 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 500 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - This includes the following low water crossings...
    West Fork Pryor Creek at Blair Road.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Nevada, Fort Scott, Bronson, Uniontown, Walker, Schell City,
    Fulton, Redfield, Richards, Mapleton, Deerfield, Metz,
    Harwood, Stotesbury, Hammond, Horton, Devon, Harding and
    Xenia.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
