The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southeastern Smith County in northeastern Texas...
  Southwestern Panola County in northeastern Texas...
  Rusk County in northeastern Texas...
  Northwestern Nacogdoches County in eastern Texas...
  Cherokee County in northeastern Texas...

* Until 615 PM CDT.

* At 529 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Jacksonville,
  moving northeast at 50 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
           tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
           roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Jacksonville, Henderson, Rusk, Overton, Troup, New London, Arp,
  Ponta, New Salem, Mount Selman, Joinerville, Sacul, Mixon,
  Turnertown, Reese, Minden, Maydelle, New Summerfield, Mount
  Enterprise, and Gallatin.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for eastern and
northeastern Texas.
