At 1242 AM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain mostly northwest of
a line from Hugo to Fayetteville. They were most widespread and
heaviest in Pawnee, Tulsa and Washington counties in Oklahoma.
Movement was to the northeast at around 40 mph. The average amount
where it rained last hour was around one quarter of an inch with
maximum amounts of two to two and a half inches. Coverage increased
during the last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for late tonight,
cloudy, widespread showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may
be severe with heavy rainfall.
