...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MELBOURNE HAS ISSUED A HIGH RIP
CURRENT RISK, WHICH IS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING.

* WAVES AND SURF...SEAS WITHIN THE NEAR SHORE WATERS WILL REMAIN
AROUND 7 TO 8 FEET. LARGE BREAKING WAVES AND LONG PERIOD SWELLS
WILL MOVE LARGE VOLUMES OF WATER ONTO THE BEACHES AND POSE
  HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS FOR SWIMMERS.

* TIMING...CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN HAZARDOUS THROUGH TODAY. MINOR
BEACH EROSION MAY OCCUR NEAR THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE ROUGHLY
BETWEEN 11 AM TO 2 PM ALONG THE EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA COASTLINE.

* IMPACTS...LARGE BREAKING WAVES WILL MAKE SWIMMING DANGEROUS.
NUMEROUS RIP CURRENTS WILL LIKELY FORM, AND ESPECIALLY DURING
THE TIMES OF THE OUTGOING TIDE. POUNDING SURF CAN EASILY KNOCK
YOU OFF OF YOUR FEET IF WALKING IN THE SURF.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

RIP CURRENTS ARE POWERFUL CHANNELS OF WATER FLOWING QUICKLY AWAY
FROM SHORE, WHICH OCCUR MOST OFTEN AT LOW SPOTS OR BREAKS IN THE
SANDBAR AND IN THE VICINITY OF STRUCTURES SUCH AS JETTIES AND
PIERS. HEED THE ADVICE OF LIFEGUARDS...BEACH PATROL FLAGS AND
SIGNS.

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN
THE ADVISORY AREA...PRODUCING LOCALIZED BEACH EROSION AND
DANGEROUS SWIMMING CONDITIONS.

SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD. IF CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT, RELAX AND
FLOAT. DON`T SWIM AGAINST THE CURRENT. IF ABLE, SWIM IN A
DIRECTION FOLLOWING THE SHORELINE. IF UNABLE TO ESCAPE, FACE THE
SHORE AND CALL OR WAVE FOR HELP.
