...AUGUST WAS WARMER AND DRIER THAN NORMAL IN BETHEL...

DURING THE FIRST PART OF THE MONTH OF AUGUST BETHEL WAS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF
HIGH PRESSURE. AS THE HIGH PRESSURE MOVED SOUTH A SERIES OF LOW PRESSURE SYSTEMS
WITH THEIR ASSOCIATED FRONTS THAT TRACK EASTWARD ACROSS THE BERING SEAS OVER
SOUTHWESTERN ALASKA INTO CENTRAL ALASKA.

TEMPERATURES WERE ABOVE NORMAL AND PRECIPITATION WERE BELOW NORMAL FOR AUGUST.
