NO THUNDERSTORMS AFFECTED THE KEARNEY AREA DURING JANUARY. IN TERMS
OF STRONG WINDS...ONE OF THE HIGHEST MEASURED PEAK GUSTS OF THE
MONTH AT KEARNEY AIRPORT WAS 50 MPH FROM THE NORTHWEST ON THE
29TH...WHICH OCCURRED AT 155 AM BEHIND A COLD FRONT.
(HOWEVER...PLEASE NOTE THIS WAS NOT NECESSARILY THE TRUE PEAK GUST
OF THE MONTH...AS THIS AUTOMATED SYSTEM ONLY TRANSMITS ROUTINE WIND
OBSERVATIONS EVERY 20 MINUTES).
