...FLOOD WATCH WILL EXPIRE AT 6 PM CST THIS EVENING...

The Flood Watch for portions of central Illinois and west central
Illinois will expire at 6 PM CST this evening. Light rain or
freezing rain will be possible this evening, but the threat of
flooding from heavy rain has subsided.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of central Illinois, east central Illinois, southeast
  Illinois, and west central Illinois, including the following
  areas, in central Illinois, Christian, De Witt, Logan, Macon,
  Marshall, Mason, McLean, Menard, Peoria, Piatt, Sangamon,
  Shelby, Tazewell, and Woodford. In east central Illinois,
  Champaign, Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Moultrie,
  and Vermilion. In southeast Illinois, Clay, Crawford,
  Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence, and Richland. In west central
  Illinois, Cass, Fulton, Morgan, Schuyler, and Scott.

* Through late tonight

* Rainfall amounts of around an inch are expected through
  tonight. Much of the area has already received 1 to 3 inches
  since Monday morning.

* This additional rainfall will cause flooding of area rivers
  and streams across central through east central Illinois.
  Ponding of water on low roadways and near ditches is also
  likely.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
