The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Stanly County in central North Carolina...

* Until 430 AM EDT

* At 258 AM EDT, local law enforcement officials reported a slow
  moving thunderstorm producing flooding across the warned area. Up
  to three inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is
  expected to begin shortly. Local law enforcement requests the
  public stay off the roads unless its an emergency.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Albemarle, Badin Lake, Plyler, Locust, Norwood, Badin, Oakboro,
  Stanfield.

This includes the following flood prone areas...Mountain Creek at
Mountain Creek Road...Town Creek at Highway 52 and Snuggs Park
Road...Hardy Creek at Mt Zion Church Road...Big Bear Creek at
Bridgeport Road...Rocky River at Highway 52...Big Bear Creek at
Booger Hollar Road...Memory Creek at Main Street...Town Creek at
Bethany Road and Quemby Mall and Delco Plaza.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
