FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
312 PM EDT MON OCT 20 2014

.DISCUSSION...HIGH PRESSURE SHIFTING EAST WILL BE CENTERED OFF THE
MID-ATLANTIC COAST THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT...AS A COLD FRONT
APPROACHES FROM THE NORTHWEST. THE FRONT WILL CROSS THE AREA DURING
THE DAY TUESDAY...WITH A REINFORCING SURFACE TROUGH DROPPING DOWN
OVER THE AREA LATE TUESDAY EVENING. THIS WILL LEAD TO WINDS BECOMING
WESTERLY BY LATE MORNING...THEN SHIFTING OUT OF THE NORTH-NORTHWEST
BY AROUND MIDNIGHT TUESDAY NIGHT.

DISPERSION WILL BE POOR TONIGHT...BUT THE DRY AIRMASS WILL PREVENT
ANY FOG FROM FORMING. THE NIGHTTIME INVERSION WILL BREAK UP AROUND
9 AM TUESDAY. DUE TO THE DRY ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS...NO SHOWERS
ARE EXPECTED WITH THE FRONTAL PASSAGE. THE WEST BREEZES WILL HAVE
SPEEDS UP 5 TO 10 MPH (SURFACE) AND 10 TO 15 MPH (TRANSPORT) TUESDAY
AFTERNOON...WITH MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES BETWEEN 30 AND 35 PERCENT.
