FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
313 PM CST SUN FEB 7 2016

.DISCUSSION...
THE PASSAGE OF AN EARLY MORNING COLD FRONT WILL INTRODUCE ELEVATED
FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS MONDAY. NORTHERLY WINDS IN THE 15 TO 20 MPH
RANGE...GUSTING TO 25 MPH...WITHIN A VERY DRY AIR MASS COULD SET
THE STAGE FOR ANY WILDFIRE GETTING OUT OF CONTROL. RECENT DRY
WEATHER HAS CURED THE LOCAL VEGETATION ENOUGH...ESPECIALLY ACROSS
THE FAR WESTERN INTERIOR COUNTIES...TO PROMOTE MORE FLAMMABLE FUEL
SOURCES. AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITIES MAY FALL TO UNDER 20 PERCENT
ACROSS AREAS THAT WILL BE EXPERIENCING THE HIGHEST NORTHWEST TO NORTH
WINDS. THERE MAY BE A NEED FOR A SHORT FUSE RED FLAG WARNING FOR THESE
AREAS.
