FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR EASTERN WASHINGTON AND NORTH IDAHO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPOKANE WA
634 AM PDT SUN AUG 2 2015

.DISCUSSION...

...HOT...DRY AND UNSTABLE CONDITIONS CONTINUE TODAY...
...GUSTY WINDS WITH LOW HUMIDITIES THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING FOR
THE KITTITAS AND WENATCHEE VALLEYS...

DRY...HOT AND UNSTABLE WEATHER WILL CONTINUE FOR ONE MORE DAY AS
HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS ALOFT. HUMIDITY RECOVERIES WERE POOR
OVERNIGHT IN MOST AREAS EXCEPT NEAR WATER BODIES. AFTERNOON
HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL DROP AGAIN INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS TO MID
TEENS. DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WILL BE SIMILAR TO YESTERDAY WITH
WIDESPREAD 90S TO NEAR 104. UNSTABLE CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST TODAY
AS SEEN WITH WIDESPREAD HAINES INDICES AT 5 AND POCKETS OF 6
POSSIBLE...WHICH MAY INCREASE ACTIVITY ON CURRENT FIRES. MID TO
UPPER LEVEL MOISTURE WILL INCREASE FROM THE SOUTHWEST THROUGH THE
DAY AND TONIGHT...HELPING TO TEMPER THE INSTABILITY AND INCREASE
CLOUD COVER. THE CASCADE GAP WINDS WILL INCREASE THIS EVENING
WITH SPEEDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH...ESPECIALLY IN THE KITTITAS AND
WENATCHEE VALLEYS...BUT BUT NOT AS STRONG AS EXPERIENCED SATURDAY.
THE HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE WILL BREAK DOWN BY MONDAY WITH BREEZY
WINDS...SLIGHTLY COOLER TEMPERATURES AND A CHANCE OF MOUNTAIN
THUNDERSTORMS. THE BETTER CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE SEEN
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. TEMPERATURES AND HUMIDITIES ARE FORECAST TO
RETURN TO MORE SEASONAL VALUES BY THE END OF THE WEEK.
