...HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION...

THE BATTLE RAGES ON BETWEEN LOW IN THE ARCTIC AND THE RIDGE OF HIGH
PRESSURE CENTERED OVER THE NORTHERN PACIFIC. A TROUGH AND CLOSED LOW
EXTENDS DOWN INTO THE GULF FROM THE MAIN ARCTIC LOW AND WILL
CONTINUE TO BE THE FOCUS OF PRECIPITATION GENERATION DURING THE NEXT
TWO DAYS. THE ASSOCIATED FRONTAL BAND WILL MAKE LANDFALL BY SATURDAY
AND PRODUCED A STEADY DOSE OF PRECIPITATION OVER THE CENTRAL AND
SOUTHERN PANHANDLE. UPSLOPE AREAS WILL CREATE MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN
OVER THE SOUTHERN END AND RANGE BETWEEN 2 AND 4 INCHES BY SATURDAY
MORNING. IN THE CENTRAL AREAS AMOUNTS WILL BE LIGHTER AND BETWEEN 1
AND 2 INCHES

IN THE LONGER RANGE... THE RIDGE GETS BEATEN DOWN BY THE COMBINATION
OF THE ARCTIC LOW SLIDING SOUTH AND ANOTHER LOW SOUTH OF THE
KAMCHATKA PENINSULA HEADING NORTH. SCATTERED SHOWERS OF RAIN AND
SNOW CARRY ON ACROSS THE NORTH WHILE TROUGHING OVER THE GULF BRINGS
RAIN TO THE SOUTHEAST.
