SOUTH END OF SHELIKOF STRAIT...

THE AREAS AFFECTED INCLUDE...
  SOUTH END OF SHELIKOF STRAIT...
  SOUTH END OF KODIAK ISLAND...

SATELLITE IMAGERY CONTINUES TO INDICATE RESUSPENDED ASH FROM KATMAI
VOLCANO BLOWING ACROSS THE SOUTH END OF SHELIKOF STRAIT AND THE
SOUTH END OF KODIAK ISLAND. THOSE MARINE VESSELS TRAVERSING THE AREA
MAY EXPERIENCE REDUCED VISIBILITIES DOWN TO 3 NM AS WELL AS TRACE
AMOUNTS OF ASHFALL. WINDS WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH THIS EVENING
LEADING TO IMPROVING CONDITIONS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

ASH IS AN EYE AND RESPIRATORY IRRITANT AND IS ABRASIVE. THOSE WITH
RESPIRATORY SENSITIVITIES SHOULD TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS TO MINIMIZE
EXPOSURE.
