CHARACTERIZED KANSAS CITY WEATHER IN JANUARY...

The average temperature at the Kansas City International Airport was
29.6 degrees, which was 0.8 degrees above normal. The average high
temperature was 38.8 degrees, or 0.8 degrees above normal. The
average low temperature was 20.4 degrees which was 0.8 degrees above
normal. The highest temperature for the month was 64 degrees on the
29th. The lowest temperature was -3 degrees on the 17th and 18th.
This was the 64th coldest January over the 128-year record for
Kansas City.

Precipitation came in at 0.76 inches for the month, or 0.31 inches
below normal. The greatest total in a 24 hour period was 0.50 inches
on the 7th to the 8th. This was the 52th driest January over the 128-
