...STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS TO DEVELOP THURSDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY...

A PERIOD OF STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS WILL DEVELOP THURSDAY NIGHT AND
PERSIST THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING. THIS WILL RESULT IN HAZARDOUS
MARINE AND AVIATION CONDITIONS AS WELL AS THE POTENTIAL FOR POWER
OUTAGES AND FLYING DEBRIS OVER LAND AREAS.

AN UNSEASONABLY STRONG AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE YUKON
COMBINED WITH A SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE NORTHEAST
PACIFIC WILL LEAD TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS.
HIGHEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED LATE THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY WITH
SMALL CRAFT TO GALE FORCE WINDS IN THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL INNER
CHANNELS. THE HIGHEST WINDS WILL BE IN LOCATIONS EXPOSED TO THE
NORTH OR NEAR MOUNTAIN PASSES WITH GUSTS TO 40 TO 50 MPH. A HIGH
WIND WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR A TAKU WIND EVENT IN DOWNTOWN
JUNEAU AND DOUGLAS LATE THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY WITH GUSTS TO
60 MPH POSSIBLE.

THIS STATEMENT WILL BE THE FINAL STATEMENT ON THIS EVENT.
