URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...HEAVY SNOWFALL AND BLOWING SNOW FOR THE NORTHERN COLORADO
MOUNTAINS LATER TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...

.A VERY MOIST WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT WILL PRODUCE HEAVY SNOW AND
STRONG WINDS IN THE HIGHER MOUNTAINS OF NORTHERN COLORADO THROUGH
SUNDAY MORNING. SNOWFALL INTENSITIES HAVE DECREASED EARLY THIS
EVENING, BUT IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE AGAIN TOWARDS MIDNIGHT AND
CONTINUE THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS.

ROAD CONDITIONS WILL BE ICY AND SNOWPACKED OVER THE MOUNTAINS
TONIGHT. IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON TRAVELING... CHECK THE LATEST
ROAD CONDITIONS AND ANY TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS AND BE PREPARED FOR
WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE SNOW WILL DECREASE ON SUNDAY
AFTERNOON WHICH SHOULD BRING SOME IMPROVEMENT TO THE ROADS.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM MST
SUNDAY...

* TIMING...SNOW WILL INCREASE AGAIN OVER THE MOUNTAINS TOWARDS
   MIDNIGHT AND CONTINUE THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING. SNOW WILL BE
   HEAVY AT TIMES ESPECIALLY OVERNIGHT TONIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...10 TO 20 INCHES...WITH UP TO 25 INCHES IN
  AREAS NORTH OF ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK AND RABBIT EARS
  PASS.

* WIND/VISIBILITY...WEST WINDS 20 TO 40 MPH NEAR AND ABOVE
  TIMBERLINE...WITH GUSTS TO 60 MPH OR MORE ON THE HIGH PASSES.
  VISIBILITY MAY LOWER TO A COUPLE HUNDRED FEET AT TIMES ON THE
  PASSES...AND AS LOW AS A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES ON LOWER
  SLOPES.

* IMPACTS...THE SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL PRODUCE HAZARDOUS AND
  SLOW TRAVEL CONDITIONS ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS. THE WORST TRAVEL
  CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED FROM MIDNIGHT THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY
  MORNING. TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS ARE LIKELY...AND ROAD CLOSURES ARE POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW
ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. CHECK ROAD
CONDITIONS BEFORE YOU GO. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA
FLASHLIGHT... FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN
EMERGENCY.

* WIND/VISIBILITY...WEST 15 TO 25 MPH. VISIBILITIES WILL BE
REDUCED TO ONE QUARTER MILE AT TIMES IN SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

* IMPACTS...THE SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL PRODUCE HAZARDOUS AND
  SLOW TRAVEL CONDITIONS STARTING THIS AFTERNOON. THE WORST
  TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TONIGHT AND EARLY SUNDAY
  MORNING.
