* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow
  accumulations of 6 to 14 inches and ice accumulations of one
  tenth to one quarter of an inch.

* WHERE...Southern Herkimer County.

* WHEN...Until 11 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be hazardous due to snow and ice
  covered roadways and reduced visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates may approach one inch per
  hour this morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

  accumulations of 6 to 14 inches and ice accumulations of one
  tenth to one quarter of an inch.

* WHERE...Southern Adirondacks and the Lake George Saratoga
  region.

* WHEN...Until 11 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult due to snow and ice
  covered roadways and reduced visibility. The heavy wet snow
  may lead to some downed tree limbs, resulting in some power
  outages.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates may approach one inch per
  hour this morning.

EVENING...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations
  of 2 to 5 inches and ice accumulations of one tenth to a
  quarter of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph, mainly
  across higher elevations.

* WHERE...The Mohawk and Schoharie Valleys, Helderbergs and
  eastern Catskills, and Capital Region of eastern New York.

* WHEN...Until 11 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be hazardous due to snow and ice
  covered roadways and reduced visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Freezing rain and plain rain this morning.
  After a period of plain rain late this morning and afternoon,
  precipitation will change back to snow before ending this
  evening. Snowfall rates may get close to one inch per hour late
  this afternoon and evening before precipitation ends. The
  highest snow totals will be for northern areas.
